We flew across the country during the Solar Eclipse and landed around sunset, got on a train, then a bus, and got ourselves to our cute Airbnb, where we ordered vegan takeout (some of the best we've ever had) and went to sleep.
I love exploring new places just by walking around, so we decided to walk around the area where we were staying, and since we had a nice kitchen and were going to be there for a week, we went to a grocery store and got some food for the rest of our stay. Like any trip, we had some work to be done, so I spent the rest of my day on my laptop.
We wanted at least one really good day of adventuring, and we really packed it in for this one! We started out early and walked around lots of parks, a zen garden, a great restaurant, and saw a lot of the city. Later that night we met with some of my boyfriend's college friends and we had dinner and went to get some beyond good vegan ice cream.
After such a busy walking day, and knowing that we'd be spending a long weekend without any internet or phone connection, we spent day four catching up on more work. But we did walk into the nearest busy area and explore a little more. We had some killer vegan french toast!
We picked up our rental car for the second half of our trip, heading out to our new place to stay. We picked up like four dozen vegan doughnuts to bring to our friends, and because, doughnuts obviously. We had some extra time, so we decided to drive through Snoqualmie Falls, which is where the intro of Twin Peaks was filmed. It was a lot bigger in person than it seemed on TV. :P
DAY 6 + 7
We spent the rest of the weekend at nearly the Northwest most point of the US, where there was zero service, to the point where everyone was communicating through radio instead. We had fun in the great outdoors, prepping for our friends' wedding, drinking and playing games with friends, and staying in a big dark cabin. The wedding day was a long shooting day (11AM-11PM) but it was really fun, it was a good challenge in lighting and editing, and we were surrounded by great people.
